INFORMATION:
This group from Osaka (and it shows in their lyrics!) got their name from an old record jacket in which "soulful" was written out, but there was a line break between "so" and "ulful", forming the word "ulful". They took that word, and made it plural, making themselves the "Ulfuls". As you can imagine, their sound is very soulful indeed. In fact, Tortoise Matsumoto has a solo effort in which he did covers of many popular 1970's soul songs in English. Though this group has been 4 people for most of the career, John B. Chopper left the group in 1992, to return in 2002.
