The Tunnels are a well known comedy duo, who have hosted many variety shows, appeared in many TV dramas, and released several CD singles (both as Tunnels, and as a part of a group called "Yaen"). Before hosting this show, they had appeared on many other comedy and variety shows, including "Owarai Star Tanjou", and "Tunnels no Kodomo wa Nenasai!?".

"Tunnels no Minna san no Okage Desu" was a comedy variety show, that featured many different and regularly reocurring comedy skits. Many different noteable entertainment personalities were regulars on this show, some even before they were as well known as they are now! These regulars included Matsushima Nanako, Tomosaka Rie, Mizuki Arisa, Itou Atsushi, and more!

Also, like most variety shows, this one would also sometimes feature guests. Some of the more noteable guests to have appeared on this show include Matsuda Seiko, The Alfee, Nakamori Akina, Inoue Yousui, Kudou Shizuka, and even MC Hammer!

After this variety show ended in 1997, like most variety shows of this kind, another did eventually come about. "Tunnels no Ki de Dara Dara Ikasete!!" ran from 1991 to 2001, and "Tunnels no Minna san no Okage Deshita" began in 1997, and is still airing today.
