Romaji Title: wasurenakouta

English Title: Remembrance Song

This song was surprisingly hard to translate, actually. In Japan, the flower "forget-me-not" is called "wasurenagusa" (literally something like "a don't forget vegetation"), so that is where I derived the "remembrance" part from. A "kouta" is basically a ballad, so hence my translated version of the title. |
The summer grass was fragrant on that evening; The flickering heat haze, the scent of the city
I walked my dreams, together with my mother, down that road that the wind brought a scent to
Now I was gazing at the clouds that drift by so slowly, far off and nostalgic
Where are those fleeting feelings going to? We don't know anything
That girl was crying all alone, she was crying without a sound
I know myself in a dreamy sort of way; It begins from a small desire
They repeat themselves in any given era, a blue light and the end of time
Do we have wills that won't allow us to compromise on a reason that's too flimsy?
Those fleeting feelings will last forever, if we still have them now
That girl is smiling at everyone; A remembrance song is playing
