A life amidst this limited time
It's alright to think that it's small when you take a look at it
So how many thousands, how many tens of thousands of people are there on this planet?
What number am I really?
Those sorts of rankings are meaningless

Ignoring it by saying "everyone's different"
The position that I'm in right now, over there
Everyone's living their lives earnestly, one person at a time
Amidst all of that, people encounter one another
Sketching out their wishes in this wonderful world
Sometimes getting over betrayl and hatred
There's yet another meaning to life
After all, we're all connected
And amidst that, we're all grasping frantically
For a piece of an encounter; If you polish it up
From here on out a countless number of seeds will sprout

Accumulating sadness, and carrying around loneliness
Amidst the loneliness, people live their lives
And there are encounters and partings in these overflowing days
I gather up the pieces that are buried in the cracks of my heart
Things can't go as you think they will in this world
Nothing can be seen ahead of our encounters
People are just guided to their various places
We just want to have our dreams
There are so many lonely partings up ahead
And we accumulate new encounters as adults

"Goodbye" always makes me sad, but
Knowing pain, I can be kind
People accept and people who betray
It should make them all realize something, certainly
Coming to know yourself again, and moving forward
New encounters creat the future

People are connected, and before long that takes shape
Even if nothing good comes of them, encounters are wonderous things
If there are days when we shed tears together, then there are days when we laugh in loud voices together
In the encounters that have sprouted, in the proof that they have sketched out
People believe that they will be strong again, and have encounters without running away

The gathered pieces of an encounter
I take them into my hands one by one, and try shining them up
Small bits of light and warm hands
From the time that I grasped ahold of them, encounters have been changing into love
