Information:
Aoyama's grandfather on her father's side was 1/4 Trinidadian/Tobagonian (from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago), which accounts for her slightly foreign-looking appearance.

Aoyama lived in Nara until she was in 6th grade, when she began to commute 4 hours to an Osaka international school. Shortly after she would move to America for several years, returning to Japan in 2002.

Her parents divorced when she was young, and she is currently living together with her mother in Tokyo.

Also, before her official debut she was involved in songs by Douji-T, SPHERE of INFLUENCE, DS455, and others. Though Aoyama made her debut in 2007 with her single "ONE WAY", she wouldn't get her big break until her 2008 collaboration with SoulJa on "koko ni iru yo" and "soba ni iru ne".
