Though this group's Japanese debut was in 2006, they have been a successful Korean pop group (known as "Dong Bang Shin Gi" in Korea) since 2004. They made their first appearance in December 2003, during a BoA/Britney Spears Christmas special that aired on Korean TV. They have proven their success in other Asian countries as well, namely China and Thailand. Their name translates roughly into "Rising Gods of the East".
