Information:
This is a group created by Johnny's Jimusho, manufacturers of such popular groups as SMAP, KinKi Kids, V6, TOKIO, and Arashi. "NEWS" stands for "North, East, West, South". During the time of their debut, there was an additional member named Moriuchi Takahiro (son of the famous enka singer Mori Shinichi). He had to quit shortly after, however, due to educational reasons. Note that all of the members came out of one sub group or another within Johnny's Juniors, except for Tegoshi, who was recruited by Johnny's and put directly into NEWS. Uchi and Nishikido are also members of Kan Johnny 8, Johnny's Jimusho's group consisting of Johnny's members from Osaka.
