 Re: Goodbye Song Requests
Just again to clarify, the song translations themselves are going nowhere, and we will still be adding new ones. We just aren't taking requests from visitors, because it took too much time away from other things. We will still be adding new song translations, many from the artists you regular requesters have been asking for over and over. Lots of you have great taste, and the songs you requested are ones we would have done eventually anyway, so not to worry. It's just that you might have to wait longer now.

 Re: Goodbye Song Requests
I just wanted to reinforce this. We are definitely not giving up on song translations all together. Again, I can't promise that you'll still see weekly updates: you may not. But I will still continue to translate songs. I also can't promise that I'll end up translating everything you want to say, but I hope we overlap at some point. For example, I definitely could see more Princess Princess in the future.

Stiltzkin & Kumana...
Domo arigato for clarifying that the translations will not stop. As I said last night, Mognet will stay on my bookmark list.
BTW: I did not mention in my previous post, Stiltzkin, how much I enjoy our exchanges on PuriPuri's music. Things like comparing Kaori's "Sweet Sweet Home" to "Dakara Honey" or the diametrically opposite messages in "Jungle Princess" and "Bee-Beep".
To all at Mognet, keep on keeping on!

 Re: Goodbye Song Requests
I enjoy them as well! Not that I'm taking shots at anyone in particular, but it's very nice to communicate in that sort of a manner with a Japanese music fan. There are so many of them that simply...don't care about such things. I'm happy to have any number of those types of conversations in the forum, it's never a problem for me As for that specific topic though, I do feel a bit dwarfed by your knowledge as opposed to my own, I must admit! My knowledge of Puri Puri is rudimentary at best, and I'm really only very familiar with their most well known hits. Though I must say, your requests will likely drive me to become more familiar with some of the lesser known parts of their song catalog, so who knows what I may end up translating in the future.

 Re: Goodbye Song Requests
Hello mognet team! You are doing a really great job, I think. Also your translations are soo great. I found many songs of my favourite artists.
However, I hope you can change my last song request. I requested Ginnan Boyz but as this will be my first and last I wanted to ask you if it's possible to change it? I saw that I perhaps can translate this song on my own (surely I can).
Would you please let me know about my request?
:D

 Re: Goodbye Song Requests
Thanks! And yes, it's absolutely possible to change your request, I don't mind at all. You can either email in or let me know right here what you'd like to change it to. I'll take care of it for you!

 Re: Goodbye Song Requests
Wow. Thank you sooo much ^-^v
Here is the new song: It's
Migration 10 64 by ACIDMAN
Thanks a lot in advance! And will you still translate acidman songs sometimes? I found already many translated lyrics of them on here. Their lyrics are really really beautiful, I think. :)

 Re: Goodbye Song Requests
Alright, I've changed it for you so that's the song you'll get translated.
As for whether I will continue to translate Acidman songs on my own...well I've been honest up until now when people have asked me this sort of question, so I will be honest with you as well: No, I most likely will not. I'm not attacking your taste in music or anything, it just really does not match my own. Granted I will occasionally step outside the bounds of my own taste for the sake of variety (even though I'd like to think that my tastes in music are quite varied), but I don't know that it will extend to Acidman all that often, if at all.

 Re: Goodbye Song Requests
I've encountered some songs that seem to be difficult to find the lyrics for (even the kanji lyrics, and I tried searching with both 歌詞 and リリク and even with specific lines from the song)... I intend to try translating some of these. If I do and if I post them here or email them to you, would you revise them and add them to the site? Also, I was wondering about how you use ascii values or whatever for Japanese characters (or at least that's what the page source looks like)... I've used Japanese characters "as is" in HTML documents encoded in UTF-8 format, and they displayed just fine. Is there a reason why you guys use ascii instead?

 Re: Goodbye Song Requests
Good questions! I would be happy to look at/help you with translations done by you in the forum, however I cannot post them to the site. We decided a long time ago that we were not going to accept non-staff translations of any kind, and I'm afraid that we have to stick to that no matter what the skill level of the translator. Sorry. The thought is definitely appreciated though! As for the second question, there is a reason it's just not a good one Back when the site first went from static HTML to PHP, I didn't have much to do with the site's design (busy with school at the time). That has since changed, and the site has even gone through another revision. However, the proper database table fields were originally encoded for shift-jis, and I can't really go back and convert them all over to utf-8 without having to manually re-enter songs. So they're likely going to stay in shift-jis. I'm not only the Mognet translator, I'm also the programmer

 Re: Goodbye Song Requests
Ah, I see. I'll just put my own translations on my site like I've been doing so far (well, I've only done a couple translations, and I had to look at other translations for help on some parts). That would be great if I could get some help with some parts here.
This is kinda unrelated, but... actually, I'll go post it in the "Japanese Language" section.

Just dropping a line that I really appreciate your translating Yutaka Ozaki's 'Freeze Moon' for me. I've been dying to find out what it is really about, now I know. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
