Hikawa Kiyoshi A CM Character for Hakutsuru's "Maru"

Enka Singer Hikawa Kiyoshi (31) made his debut appearance as CM character for Hakutsuru's sake "maru" (Hakutsuru Brewing Company) on the 3rd in Tokyo.

Appearing in a white suit and white tie and called "Japanese sake" fashion, he declared himself a drinker by saying "I love Japanese sake. I drink it when I'm eating a Japanese style meal. I drink 2 or 3 gou".

(gou is a Japanese measurement that equates to roughly 0.18 L). The commercial was shot in Chiba, but he stood in front of the camera actually drinking "maru", so it was completed with a real sense of realism.
After singing enthusiastically and powerfully for the new commercial, he was photographed holding "Maru" in both the white packaging and red packaging over his head in a pose. Headed toward a performance on New Year's Eve for NHK's Red and White Song Contest, it could be an omen that "White is "pure"".

His new single that went on sale on 8/19, "Exciting Rumba" took number 1 on the 31st of that month on the Oricon Charts. He emotionally stated "It's a miracle that all the fans made happen. I'm full of gratitude toward them". The commercial will be on-air from September 5th country-wide.
