 Wii Opinions
I try to keep up with what's going on in the gaming world, and there's been a lot of noise lately about how the Wii, though it started off so promising, is starting to disappoint much of the gaming world nowadays. Basically people are saying that there's way too much shovelware, too many games that largely involve nothing but wiimote waggling, and are just collections of mini games with no depth whatsoever.
I myself fall somewhere between that opinion and thinking that it is still a great system. While I do believe that there is way too much shovelware that has been released for the Wii (in the US in particular, I think the library is a good bit stronger in Japan than it is here), I do think that there are a decent number of strong titles as well (though all of them seem to be 1st party). Though I suppose "a decent number" is all subject to what people think is a decent number for a console having between out approximately 2 1/2 years.
Kumama and I were talking about this not long ago in fact. I would be interested to hear the opinions of the gamers who occasionally check this forum. Feel free to comment!

 Re: Wii Opinions
I base my liking of a system mostly on games that have a long amount of playability for me. Party games and stuff like wii sports are mostly what the Wii is good for... the only game so far that I've spent loads of time on for the Wii has been Twilight Princess, and I still find myself using my PS2 more than any other console for RPGs, since they're even now being released. Wii has a couple promising looking RPGs for this year, but I think it's going to take more than just that to convince the rest of the gamers these days, since so much of the gaming population here is filled with the Guitar Hero and Halo crowds.
